Profile
Daevid Allen (who went by a variety of names, including Divided Alien), an Australian poet, guitarist, singer, composer and performance artist is co-founder of psychedelic rock groups Soft Machine and Gong. In spite of being Australian, he is one of the founding forces and primary figures of the Canterbury Scene. His restless spirit insured that his discography would be long and complicated, with countless variations on Gong, many solo recordings using various names and backing groups, and frequent guest appearances on other artists' albums.
