Todd Harry Rundgren (born June 22, 1948, Upper Darby, Pennsylvania) is an American musician (vocals, guitar, bass, keyboards, drums, saxophone, theremin), singer-songwriter and record producer. His career started in earnest with the psychedelic garage rock band Nazz in 1967, and he departed shortly after the band's second album was released in 1969. He released his first solo album in 1970, and has continued to record as a solo artist since. From 1973-86 he was also leader of the band Utopia. In addition to his own recordings, he has produced and/or engineered albums by a wide range of other artists, including Grand Funk Railroad, The Band, Badfinger, New York Dolls, Hall & Oates, and XTC.
