John Stanley Marshall (born 28 August 1941, Isleworth, Middlesex) is a British jazz drummer. Aside from his tenure in Soft Machine (from 1973 onward), he has worked in a wide variety of contexts with John Surman, Eberhard Weber, Mike Gibbs, Nucleus, Graham Collier, and many more.

Rieflin was best known as a drummer in bands ranging from post-punk to industrial to indie-rock to progressive rock, including work with The Blackouts, Ministry, Nine Inch Nails, Swans, Land, and King Crimson.
