Profile
German Krautrock band formed in 1968 by former Irene Schweizer Trio musicians: Mani Neumeier (drums) and Uli Trepte (bass) as Guru Guru Groove, later shortened to Guru Guru. The group's original guitarist was Eddy Naegeli, who was replaced first by Jim Kennedy (an American) and then Ax Genrich, solidifying the band's best known configuration. Trepte departed in 1972, and Genrich stayed on board until 1973, after which personnel changes accompanied nearly every album released, with Neumeier being the only constant.
