Peter Banks (born 15 July 1947, Barnet, Hertfordshire, England – died 7 March 2013, Chipping Barnet, London, England) was an English guitarist. He was the original guitarist of the progressive rock band Yes, which he helped form with Chris Squire, with whom he had played in The Syn. After leaving Yes, his band Flash recorded several albums, after which he formed Empire with singer Sydney Foxx. Starting in the 90s, he re-emerged as a solo artist, releasing a total of four albums under his own name, as well as with Harmony in Diversity, before his death in 2013 at the age of 65.
