David Robert Jones (born 8 January 1947, died 10 January 2016), known by his stage name David Bowie, was an English musician, singer-songwriter, record producer, actor, and arranger. Bowie was a major figure in the world of popular music for nearly the entire extent of his career, and was renowned as an innovator, particularly for his work in the 70s. He was known for his distinctive voice as well as the intellectual depth and eclecticism of his work.

Tomasz Stańko RIP – Tomasz Stańko, one of the greats of Eastern European jazz, has died at the age of 76. Stańko's career started in Krzysztof Komeda's quintet, where he contributed trumpet from 1963-1967, when he formed his own group. He worked extensively with Edward Vesala, Don Cherry, Zbigniew Seifert, Chico Freeman, Howard Johnson, Cecil Taylor, and many others.
