Word reaches us today of the death of Ian McDonald, who was a founding member of King Crimson in 1969 and Foreigner in 1976. McDonald's sax work contributed greatly to the sound of In the Court of the Crimson King, and he also did session work for a wide variety of artists, including T. Rex, Daryl Way's Wolf, Herbie Mann, Fireballet, Steve Hackett, and many more. McDonald was born in London June 25th, 1946 and died February 9, 2022 at the age of 75.
