The sad news has come out that Jewlia Eisenberg has died. As a founding member of Charming Hostess, Eisenberg changed the face of music, bringing together Balkan klezmer, American folk, and experimental rock in a distinctive blend that garnered much praise.

Aside from Charming Hostess, Eisenberg lent her talents to recordings by Idiot Flesh, Už Jsme Doma, Vienna Teng, John Zorn, and Jettison Slinky. She also led Red Pocket and released the solo album Trilectic.
Jewlia Eisenberg died on March 11, 2021 of complications from the immune deficiency GATA2.
