Music legend Jim Pembroke, founding member of Wigwam, passed away on the night of October 8, 2021.

Pembroke, born January 27, 1946 in London, was a founding member of Wigwam. Before arriving in Finland in 1965, Pembroke played with the London group Taverners' Guild. Following his arrival in Finland, he played with various groups until forming the Pems. He joined Blues Section in 1967, recording their self-titled debut, an important milestone in Finnish rock. After the band folded, Pembroke learned piano, then joined Wigwam in early 1969. He remained their frontman and a principal songwriter, while also releasing occasional solo records.
In the mid 90s he moved to the USA, married, and settled in Kansas City, Missouri. Pembroke died in Kansas City on 8th October 2021, aged 75.
