Vacuum Tree Head was formed by Jason Berry and Michael de la Cuesta in a garage in south San Jose, California, in 1989. Inspired equally by punk rock, free jazz, electronic music, they have recorded music using a wide variety of instruments and with a large number of collaborators. Vacuum Tree Head ceased operations in December 2019. Nubdug Ensemble is the current recording and performance "nom du guerre" of Jason Berry.
