Exposé print issues (1993-2011)
The Shirts was a power pop band based in Brooklyn that was active from 1975 to 1981. The members were Robert Racioppo (bass, vocals), Artie Lamonica (guitar, vocals, keyboards), Annie Golden (vocals), Ronnie Ardito (guitar), and a variety of others. They played at CBGB and other New York clubs, and garnered some attention in England and Europe, even opening for Peter Gabriel for some shows. After poor management and promotion for their third album, the group disbanded in 1981. They played reunion shows occasionally during the 90s, then got back together for shows and new recordings in 2006.
