Trettioåriga Kriget ("Thirty Years War" in English) is a Swedish progressive rock band formed in 1970 in Saltsjöbaden, southeast of Stockholm. The original members, still in high school at the time, were Stefan Fredin (bass, vocals), Pocke Öhrström (guitar, vocals), Dag Lundquist (drums), Olle Thörnvall (harmonica, guitar), Dag Kronlund (piano), and Johan Gullberg (drums). By the end of 1972, the personnel consisted of Fredin, Lundquist, Robert Zima (guitar, vocals), and Christer Åkerberg (guitar), with Thörnvall (lyrics) and Gullberg (artwork) participating but not playing. Mats Lindberg (keyboards, saxophone) joined in 1977, and this lineup stayed together until 1979, when Zima departed. The group recorded one additional album without Zima, then split up in 1980. In the early 90s, members of the band started playing reunion concerts, and in 2002 started working on new material, with the classic 1977-79 lineup intact. They have since continued to record new music and tour around the world.
