Michael John Moorcock (born 18 December 1939) is an English writer and musician, primarily known for science fiction and fantasy, who has also published literary novels. In music, his association with Hawkwind started in the early 70s, and he provided lyrics and other material for many of the band's albums. He started his own backing band, The Deep Fix, in 1975, and has worked with them sporadically ever since.
