Michael Mantler (born August 10, 1943, Vienna) is an Austrian-born trumpeter and composer in new jazz and contemporary music. He moved to the US in 1962 to study music and became active in the New York avant-garde jazz scene. In 1991 he moved back to Europe, where he has divided his activities between Denmark and Southern France.
