Chester Cortez Thompson (born December 11, 1948 in Baltimore) is an American drummer who is best known for working with such artists as Frank Zappa, Weather Report, and Santana. He also filled the drum seat for Genesis and Phil Collins, allowing the latter to step up front to sing. He has also recorded and toured as a leader of his own groups.
