Exposé print issues (1993-2011)
Mission of Burma was formed in Boston in 1979 by Roger Miller (guitar), Clint Conley (bass), Peter Prescott (drums), and Martin Swope (tape manipulator/sound engineer). The group developed a style of post-punk influenced by contemporary experimental music, but broke up in 1983 after one studio album and a handful of singles and EPs. Starting from 1980, Miller and Swope also maintained a side project called Birdsongs of the Mesozoic, and after Mission of Burma's end, it became their primary band. The group reunited in 2002 without Swope, and continued activity off and on until finally disbanding in 2020.
