Major Parkinson is a Norwegian rock group based in Bergen formed in 2003 by Jon Ivar Kollbotn (vocals), Eivind Gammersvik (bass), André Lund (guitar), and Jan Are Rønhovde (drums). By the time of their first album in 2008, Cato Olaisen had taken over on drums. Kollbotn and Gammersvik have carried on the band through other personnel changes. The 2017 edition of the band features Lars Christian Bjørknes (synth), Øystein Bech-Eriksen (guitar), Sondre Veland (drums), Sondre Skollevoll (guitar, vocals), and Claudia Cox (violin, vocals).

Tomasz Stańko RIP – Tomasz Stańko, one of the greats of Eastern European jazz, has died at the age of 76. Stańko's career started in Krzysztof Komeda's quintet, where he contributed trumpet from 1963-1967, when he formed his own group.
