Deep Listening Band came together in the late 80s after the album Deep Listening by Pauline Oliveros (accordion, electronics), Stuart Dempster (trombone, conch, etc.), and Panaiotis (AKA Peter Ward, voice, electronics, etc.). David Gamper (percussion, toys, etc.) joined later, and Ward departed, but the project has continued intermittently since.
