Exposé print issues (1993-2011)
Astra is a psychedelic progressive rock band from San Diego, California. The group was formed in 2001 by Richard Vaughan (vocals, guitars, keyboards), Conor Riley (vocals, guitars, keyboards), and brothers Iain (drums, percussion) and Stuart Sclater (bass guitar), originally under the name Silver Sunshine. When Iain Sclater left, to be replaced by David Hurley, and Brian Ellis (guitar) joined, they became Astra. After releasing two albums, Hurley left (replaced by Paul Marrone of Radio Moscow), though the band soon went on indefinite hiatus. Riley and Ellis have since formed Birth, with Marrone as a guest on drums.
