ProgDay, the yearly festival held in North Carolina, bills itself as the world's longest-running progressive rock festival. Maintaining a showcase for non-mainstream music is a challenge in today's world, not that it's ever been easy, so the organizers are to be applauded for keeping up the good work. This year's event will take place the weekend of September 3-4 at Storybook Farm near Chapel Hill. The schedule includes Nektar, Cheer-Accident, Mike Keneally, Infinien, Lux Terminus, Schwizz, Aziola Cry, and the Jon Stickley Trio.

There will be a single-day event on Friday August 5 at The Crocodile's Madame Lou's stage. The headliners will be Bent Knee and Cheer-Accident, with other artists to be announced. Since its beginning in 2013, Seaprog has hosted a wide range of artists from various streams of progressive music, focusing on contemporary avant-rock but also touching on classic styles. 2022 promises to be another stellar event, with two of the best American art rock groups on the bill.
