Cascadence Festival reveals more artists

Cascadence is a new event in Seattle produced by the people who presented the Seaprog series of festivals from 2013 to 2022. They've got a new venue and a slate of performers that continue the eclectic tradition of their past festivals. Gong will be their headliner on Saturday, June 14, and opening up will be Khu.éex‘, Rachel Flowers, and the Kathy Moore Super Power.

The current incarnation of Gong, headed by Kavus Torabi, has been touring heavily in the last year, but their appearance at Cascadence will be the first time a band by that name has appeared in Seattle since 1996. The group has been performing material from nearly all of Gong's history as well as material from their more recent albums.

Khu.éex‘ is a cosmic funk group with a heavy dose of Northwest indigenous culture. Their performances are highly lauded, and include visual and performance art elements. Jazz, rock, funk, hip-hop, and more are used to bring to life stories both old and new.

Rachel Flowers is no stranger to Exposé — we reviewed her Bigger on the Inside album a while ago, and she's been winning over crowds with her amazing performances, both as a solo artist and as a guest with Dweezil Zappa and others.

Kathy Moore has decades of experience as a guitarist with other artists, adding her intense playing to such artists as Shawn Smith, Thaddeus Turner, Krist Novoselic, and many more. For the last few years, she's been leading the Kathy Moore Super Power Trio, with one album already out and another on the way. For Cascadence, she'll be fronting a somewhat different group she calls the Kathy Moore Super Power.

Tickets are on sale now for this exciting event. Seaprog is a registered non-profit organization, and all proceeds go to the production of their events.
