Korekyojin — Korekyojin

The latest band from Yoshida Tatsuya (leader from Ruins and Koenji Hyakkei), this trio consists of a very powerful blend of avant-rock and jazzcore musics. The guitarist from Bondage Fruit, Kido Natsuki, brings some zeuhl tint to the overall sound, but never forgets that it is a Tzadik release and thus it really bites your ear, as most of the New Japan series CDs! The coherence is really great and the music moves from brutish rhythms to more soft passages where the section moves to jazz territories. The overall impression is that Ruins has turned to a groovy-zeuhlish and avant-rock direction where they can explore many more new musical ways. No doubt that it won’t disappoint at all the Yoshida fans because this album shows a new way for this multi composer and instrumentalist who seems to have no limits. If each of his new projects is this brilliant (check also Tairikuotoko vs Sanmyakuonna‘s second album with Haco!), I bet that my CD shelves will keep on growing!
