To Where I Belong Cover art

Dusk is a solo instrumental project by Saudi prog metal guitarist Meshari Sangora. His latest  EP, To Where I Belong, contains four tracks of neo-prog metal. The music is a mixture of clean guitar tones, complex rhythmic riffs, and lead solos. On “Beneath My Fears” and the title track Sangora plays solo. He is joined by upcoming Riyadh guitarists Madanii Zakri on “Epiphany” and Abdulrahmin Elghazal on “Fear Is the Thing They Desire.” The guest guitarists enhance Sangora’s compositions, adding tonalities missing from Sangora’s raw musical pallet. In addition to the rapid-fire guitar shredding and machine gun drumming on “Epiphany,” there is the odd inclusion of a young girl’s voice saying “help me” that drops in out of the blue. Clocking in at 19 minutes, To Where I Belong is a bit short. Hopefully Sangora’s next release will be a full length album.
