GTR was a British rock band founded in 1985 by two well-known guitarists: Steve Howe and Steve Hackett, along with American drummer Jonathan Mover, singer Max Bacon, and bassist Phil Spalding. The group released one studio album, which enjoyed some success in sales, and embarked on a tour. Hackett's dissatisfaction with the project prompted him to leave, and Howe tried to continue for a while, but eventually decided to disband the group.
