In some ways a bit of a predecessor to the Steve Hillage Gong albums (and especially Hillage's Fish Rising), this six song one-shot is one of the nearly flawless progressive rock albums of the era. I love that it's helmed by two young vocalists and that it is one of the early efforts of the brilliant keyboards player Dave Stewart (whose organ tone here is one of my favorites). I love that overall it's something of a space rock album or at least a dreamy one. The one two punch of "Mixed up Man of the Mountains" and "Driving to Amsterdam" in the middle is pretty much perfect. In fact the band I was in in the 90s attempted to cover "Driving to Amsterdam" and had chunks of it down, but some of the bridges get a bit thorny and complex. I actually haven't listened to it in a while since I played it so much back then even thinking of it gives me earworms.
