James George Thirlwell (also Jim Thirlwell or J.G. Thirlwell) is a native of Melbourne, Australia; he conceived the basic Foetus concept when he relocated to London in 1978. He later moved to New York, and has recorded under a large number of different names as a solo artist and in collaboration with others.
