Bio / info
Split Enz was a rock band from New Zealand that was popular during the late 70s and early 80s. It was founded in 1973 by Tim Finn and Phil Judd, and had a variety of other members during its existence, notably including Finn's younger brother Neil. After opening for Roxy Music on an Australian tour, the band began a fruitful association with Phil Manzanera, with Manzanera acting as producer for the Enz and several band members appearing on Manzanera's albums. By the end of the 70s, they made a successful transition from complex art rock to concise New Wave music, though they never lost their quirky nature. After the band's split in 1984, Neil Finn formed Crowded House, and Tim pursued a solo career.
