Bio / info
Crowded House is a band formed in Melbourne, Australia, in 1985. Founding members are New Zealander Neil Finn (guitar, keyboards, vocals, formerly with Split Enz), and Australians Paul Hester (drums) and Nick Seymour (bass). American Mark Hart (guitar, keyboards) later joined. Hester departed in 1994, replaced by Peter Jones, but the group disbanded in 1996, with Finn embarking on a solo career. A reformation came in 2006 after Hester's death, with another American, Mark Sherrod, handling the drums. Finn's brother Tim has performed and recorded with Crowded House as well. While they are widely known for melodic pop hits like "Don't Dream It's Over," much of their music has an edgy sound and experimental touches.
