Sleep in Heads was formed in Kiev, Ukraine in 2015 by Serj Tkhorzhevskyi (guitar), Natali Dzizinska (violin), and Fann Manerny (bass). With the addition of Sonya Yarovaya (vocals) and Roman (drums) the band recorded their debut album with help on keyboards and extra drums from session musicians. Full-time keyboardist Katerina joined in 2018. The band's name is derived from a punning translation of Sonya's name into English.
