Exposé print issues (1993-2011)
Saadia El Ghizania (8 May 1923 – 15 May 2006) was a popular Algerian raï female singer, popularly known as Cheika Rimitti. She made her first record in 1952, and was known for singing songs that were scandalous by traditional standards. By the mid-80s, when raï became the popular music of dissatisfied Algerian youth, she was hailed as the Mother (sometimes Grandmother) of Raï.
