The Heliosonic Tone-tette is an ensemble put together to pay homage to Sun Ra's innovative The Heliocentric Worlds of Sun Ra album from 1965. Sun Ra veterans Marshall Allen (saxophone) and Danny Ray Thompson (woodwinds) are joined by kindred spirits Scott Robinson (saxophone), Philip Harper (trumpet), Frank Lacy (trombone), Tim Newman (trombone), Pat O'Leary (bass), J.D. Parran (woodwinds), Yosvany Terry (woodwinds), and Matt Wilson (drums).
