Bio / info

The 23rd Turnoff was a Liverpool band featuring songwriter Jimmy Campbell. In an early incarnation known as The Panthers, they opened for The Beatles in 1962, then became known as The Kirkbys. Turning towards the psychedelic sound, they were known as The 23rd Turnoff (named for a motorway sign in the Liverpool area). They only released one single, "Michael Angelo," during their existence, but Campbell went on to write songs for many other artists.
