Definitely the Mexician reissue we've been waiting for, Caja de Pandora's sole album (at least before the band's change of name and direction) is definitely on the level of bands like Iconoclasta or Delerium, as quaint and amateur as many of Mexico's fleeting progressive groups, yet brimming over with great ideas and nice guitar and synth work. Yes, I have yet to hear a Mexican progressive group with great synth-solo tones, yet this guy definitely lets 'em rip, over a nice and upbeat rock base with lots of complexities and twists and turns. Maybe not as elegant and pristinely classical as Iconoclasta were, Caja de Pandora certainly had a lot of energy and the barrage of quick moving jams, often impelled by piano and bass, are highly captivating. Even the bonus tracks, which were necessary due to the short original album length, are excellent and they sound good too! A great reissue, in some ways it reminds me of Crucis or the Basque group Lisker in terms of intensity — check it out!
