Bio / info
Sopwith Camel was an American rock band associated with the San Francisco psychedelic rock scene of the late 60s. The band formed in late 1965 with a lineup of vocalist and saxophone player Peter Kraemer, guitarists Terry MacNeil and William "Truckaway" Sievers, bassist Martin Beard, and drummer Norman Mayell. Their self-titled debut came out in 1967, and has been reissued with alternate titles (Frantic Desolation and Hello Hello Again). In spite of a hit single on the album, the band was unable to sustain interest and broke up later the same year. They reformed in 1971 and released a second album, but disbanded for good in 1974.
