Bio / info

Sadistic Mika Band (サディスティック・ミカ・バンド) was a Japanese band formed in 1972 by Kazuhiko Kato (guitar). Inspired by the burgeoning glam rock scene in England, he put together the group with Mika Kato (vocals), Hiro Tsunoda (drums), and Masayoshi Takanaka (guitar), though by the time of their first album, Yukihiro Takahashi had taken over on drums and Ray Ohara was on bass. Kazuhiko Kato left in around 1975, and the others continued as Sadistics until 1979. A reunion in the late 80s was billed as Sadistic Mica Band because original vocalist Mika was not involved, and in 2006 a version with singer Kaela Kimura was called Sadistic Mikaela Band.
