Bio / info
Karnataka is a band based in Swansea, Wales, formed in 1997 by Ian Jones (bass, acoustic guitar), Jonathan Edwards (keyboards), and Rachel Jones (vocals), originally as a purely studio-oriented project. The group soon became a performing unit with the addition of Paul Davies (electric guitars) and Gavin Griffiths (drums). Anne-Marie Helder joined for a time on additional vocals and flute, but the band ceased activity in 2004, with Davies, Edwards, and Griffiths forming Panic Room with Helder in 2008. Ian Jones subsequently revived Karnataka with a new lineup consisting of Gonzalo Carrera (keyboards), Lisa Fury (vocals), Ian Jones (bass), Enrico Pinna (guitar), and Ian Harris (drums). Carrera, Fury, and Harris all left after a single album, and were replaced by Hayley Griffiths (vocals), Çağrı Tozluoğlu (keyboards), and Jimmy Pallagrosi (drums).
