Bio / info
eX-Girl formed in late 1997, the brainchild of Hoppy Kamiyama, who assembled the vocally-strong trio of Chihiro (vocals, guitar), Kirilola (vocals, bass), and Fuzuki (vocals, drums). While vocals may have been a strong point, they had no previous experience with musical instruments, but this proved little hindrance as the band quickly began touring and released their first album in 1998, just six months after their founding. The band has had several changes in lineup over the years, with Kirilola the only original member left. By the summer of 2007, the band flew to Northern Europe and held seven performances over the span of two months. Shortly after this final tour, the band announced they would be taking an indefinite hiatus. There were no updates from eX-Girl from 2009 until 2018, when Kirilola emerged with members Hiromi and Makiyo for live performances, including SXSW in 2019.
