Converged Cover art

For last year’s 19th Dream of Dr. Sardonicus Festival, Darral Knight of exedra created a compilation CDr as part of the Fruits de Mer Records freebie bag given to all festival goers. This compilation was something that Darral had been considering for some time, and now was the perfect opportunity. This “greatest hits” compilation is a chronological snapshot of all exedra releases from 2016 to 2023. The first two tracks are from exedra’s 2016 debut Elemental. The title track and “World Junk” are wonderful Krautrock-inspired tunes. The next two tracks are from their second album, 2016’s Illuminized. “Miracle World” is a gorgeous Eno-inspired ambient composition, and “Exoplanet Transit,” which was their first track released on a FdM compilation is also great floating music. Then there is “Light” from their 2017 album Entropic, a dreamy soundscape accompaniment to poetry. This track is followed by a hypnotic cover of David Bowie’s “Win” from 2018. Then there are two tracks from Time and Emotion (2020), “Obelisk” and “Compassion,” the title track from Turnahead (2021), and two tracks from Electronic Neo Age Mystery (2023), “Time Waltz” and their cover of John Foxx’s “Dangerous Rhythm,” all of which we have previously covered. If interested, you may still be able to get a copy by contacting Darral through Bandcamp or Facebook. And something to look forward to is the Reconverged disc he prepared for 2024’s 20th Dream of Dr. Sardonicus Festival. Each exedra release brims with fresh ideas.
