May is album time at Fruits de Mer

The label may be best known for limited-edition 7" singles, but Keith Jones of Fruits de Mer has just announced the May vinyl LP releases.

Here is the info straight from Keith:

Astralasia - Wind on Water (LP+bonus 7") (winkle 17)
One of the UK's best-loved festival bands release a new vinyl-only album on Fruits de Mer! What a coup to get Astralasia - their new album is all-instrumental, all previously-unreleased and it's laced with classic krautrock sounds and Eastern influences, it's a must for anyone who likes the Brain label (Neu! meets Yatha Sidhra?) and there's a bonus 7" including the only vocal track, which i can only describe as vaguely like Mad Max meets a spaghetti western. It's all housed in an optical-effect card sleeve inside a printed PVC sleeve which together will either be amazing or a bit of a Fruits de Mer nightmare - we'll find out once they're printed! clear vinyl.

Tor Peders - Brev Fran Ederstorp (LP+bonus 7") (winkle 16)
a brilliant psych/prog instrumental album by a Swedish band that would be 'long-lost', except we found it. Recorded just a few years ago, I reckon it's like all the best bits from our favourite Vertigo/Charisma/RCA Neon albums - without the embarrassing parts; it ranges from prog to psych, and occasionally moves into spacerock and adds a touch of surf rock for good measure! It even has a great version of George Martin's 'Theme One', which is exactly where Fruits de Mer started, and includes a bonus 7" of their last recordings before the band broke up in tragic circumstances (more of that on the FdM website). Comes in a gatefold sleeve with a textured effect that might remind you of a Jeff Beck LP sleeve called Jeff Beck (that's because we nicked the embossing machine and turned it inside out). clear vinyl.

Craig Padilla - Sonar (double LP) (strangefish six)
If you liked side one of strangfish one, you'll absolutely love this - Craig delivers 80+ minutes of music that recalls the classic kosmische/synthesiser sounds of Klaus Schulze and the Sky label; two of the tracks are a side-long each! This is the kind of late-night music where you turn down the lights and just soak it in. All in a full-colour gatefold sleeve - and pressed on colour vinyl.

Tir na nOg - I Have Known Love (crustacean 49)
Ireland's legendary acid-folk/folk-prog duo (remember their 70s albums on Chrysalis?) join Fruits de Mer to deliver a lovely four-tracker, including three new songs and a unique cover of the Silver Apples' 'I Have Known Love'.
Magical stuff - colour vinyl (33rpm) and the pressing plant have promised a linen-effect card sleeve to finish thing off.
