Autumn Electric seeks funding for album and tour

When Autumn Electric shared the bill for Moraine's Groundswell release party, they surprised everyone by playing a long set of new music from a new project, a concept album called Star Being Earth Child. Now they're looking to record the whole thing and go on tour.

From the Kickstarter page:

Despite the synthesizers and guitar octavizers, Autumn Electric has remained a DIY project. Michael books every show. Chris Barrios and Johnny Unicorn have donated their sound engineering talents to record/produce the band's last two albums, Flowers for Ambrosia (2014, Barrios) and Make Me a Tree (2012, Unicorn). Lauren Trew, Michael's wife, arranged violin, cello, and choir music for Make Me a Tree, and continues to contribute poster and album art (and the occasional delicious pie) to the cause. Louise Trew, Michael's multitalented mother, knits hats and scarves for the merch table. She also paints album covers and sews magical capes for the stage show. Keyboardist Naomi Adele Smith provides further design work and administrative assistance. It's the ultimate team effort!
With artistic ambitions, however, come questions of practicality. To do justice to "Star Being Earth Child," Michael is planning a stage show with lights, costume changes, and props. He's in the middle of booking a two-month tour for March and April of 2015, the goal being to put together showcases and mini-festivals with other progressive/avant-garde musicians across the United States. Because "Star Being Earth Child" has strong anti-pollution, pro-nature themes, he also plans to reach out to and collaborate with environmental organizations. But there just isn't enough money from the band members' modest day jobs and paid shows to record the album, have the CD mastered and pressed, buy the lighting equipment, install a trailer hitch on Johnny Unicorn's van, promote the showcases, and get a head start on gas/food for the tour. Every member is contributing as much as they're able, but community support is the only way that this project will be realized to its full potential.
